What we collect
- Your drawings and bird names. Every bird you submit appears in the public sky and in the rankings.
- Your artist name. If you write one in Profile, it shows under your birds. You can leave it empty.
- Your votes, reports and flocks. They are stored to calculate scores and lists.
- Device code. Your browser makes a random code and keeps it itself. The server keeps only a one-way hash of this code; we don't ask for an email, a password or a real name.
Against abuse
To prevent spam and fake votes, your IP address is never stored as it is. Only an irreversible hash mixed with a secret key is kept: for at most two days for counting new accounts, and for at most one hour for submission limits. Expired records are deleted. The hash of the network you submitted a bird from is stored with your account; it is used only to pause opening new accounts from that network for 24 hours when an account that breaks the rules is blocked.
Review
An admin looks at new birds and reported birds. To do that, the admin sees the bird's picture, its name and the artist name. When needed, the birds of new artists can be put on approval before publishing; in that case the bird is visible only to the person who drew it.
What we don't collect
Right now we don't use ads, ad cookies, location, contact lists or third-party analytics tools. If ads are added, this page will be updated and your consent will be asked for first where required. Fonts are loaded from our own server; no request goes to another company when the page opens.
Visit count
To see how many people come, a daily counter goes up by one on every visit. This counter does not use cookies and does not record who you are or your IP address; it keeps only the number of "visits today".
Rules
The detailed rules are in the terms of use. In short:
- Draw a bird. Don't submit drawings with personal information, phone numbers, addresses, ads or hate.
- Don't submit someone else's copyrighted character as your own work.
- If you see an inappropriate bird, press Report. A bird that gets three reports comes down from the sky; the admin reviews it and deletes it or puts it back. A device that breaks the rules can be blocked from submitting.
Deletion
You can delete your own birds from the Profile page at any time. A bird you delete is removed from the database together with its votes and reports.
Rights to your drawings
Your drawings are yours. When you submit them, you give DrawBird a free, non-exclusive permission: to publish your drawing on the site (including pages that show ads) and use it as a preview in share links. DrawBird does not sell your drawing, print it on products or use it elsewhere. When you delete the bird, this permission ends too.
